Play Area Listings Website Design

Denbighshire Council wanted to create a play area listings website to cover the whole of North Wales. Stretching from Monmouthshire all the way north to Denbighshire and west to the coast. The website content needed to be easily updatable. The design also needed to be child friendly but not condescending. The logo had already been created, but design of the site was open. As always, ease of navigation and a straight forward UI was needed. The individual play area listings needed to be structured so the visitor could find out relevant information from a consistent layout without issues.

As always the website design needed to be responsive, enabling parents or carers to find play solutions when and where they wanted. By simply choosing the type of play facility from a drop down menu and stating how far they were willing to travel.

Being a Welsh site, provision was needed for Welsh and English speakers alike. Translations were supplied and duplicate pages created. A lanuage switching navigation solution was included to facilitate easy moving between pages. Apparently, Google doesn’t translate to Welsh too successfully!
