Dominic asked me to design and build him a portfolio WordPress website to show off his work. The website design needed to be clean, modern and minimalist. It also needed to showcase his work, use a friendly tone of voice and offer a straight forward solution for getting in touch. It was a simple and considered brief. Also working with talented individuals who know what they want and appreciate what you do always makes the process more enjoyable.

Dominic’s creates video as well as photography, so motion graphics were to be considered too. The videos are hosted externally but were to be embedded into the website as he doesn’t want visitors to leave his site to view his work, this also helps to reduce page load times. Dominic also felt visitors being asked permission constantly  to view his content, inline with the new GDPR laws, would deter them from viewing his work. I know where he is coming from and there was a simple solution for this, even though I would generally advise against ignoring laws!
