CX Energy WordPress Website Design
Another part of the CX Group. Cx Energy are in the business of renewable energy, Electric Cars, Solar Power, Energy Storage etc, all that good stuff. And so they wanted a simple website that was modern, clean, allowed people to find out what the company did and how to get in touch.
So we did this. A simple, modern, clean website that said what they did and allowed people to get in touch!
Using WordPress, a modern professional theme obviously styled with bespoke CSS to help forward their brand and stand up against the competitors.
With the normal Nowhere Design attention to detail, and an eye on the security aspects of modern web development, this site is another example of the future proofed way we like to work.
Self Led WordPress Website Design
Imaginary client time, self imposed brief!
The colours available when you look at the Northern Lights are without doubt amazing, blues, green, purples and pinks, organic forms all set against the dark, empty sky unpolluted by city lights and endless.
The harsh mountains that haven’t moved for billions of years against the greeny blue organic shapes constantly and for ever moving in the endless sky.
Wow where did that come from!
Wikipedia
This design just started form one afternoon in the dark cold days of February in early 2022. We had had a week of three named storms and a forth slightly lesser storm. The horizontal rain was lashing down and winds were reaching record breaking velocity.
I sat here thinking is there anywhere in the world where this weather could be considered normal, and yes there is!
I have actually always wanted to and someday will visit Norway and the Arctic Circle.
And then, whilst having a quick look on google images daydreaming at images of Norway, the Arctic, the Northern lights etc I decided to design something that just looked fantastic, but also with the knowledge that I could build it with no trouble.
As a designer form and function should always go hand in hand but quite ofter, it seems, that form will take slightly second place, but this time putting form before function for once, making up content, hence the nature of the random madeup statistics and just playing around with the graphics, always of course, creating elements that are meaningful and relevant.
Lampton Leisure WordPress Website Design
I designed this WordPress website design whilst working at Alliance TA6, whose website I also built. They were commissioned Lampton360 who are part of Hounslow Council to create a site to help promote the council run leisure services available across the Hounslow area.
In 2020, leisure centres in Hounslow left Fusion Lifestyle to join Lampton Leisure, a not for profit organisation which was set up to manage the areas leisure facilities.
These services include 6 leisure centres with gyms, swimming pools and other sports facilities. Services include fitness classes, swimming lessons for kids and adults. As well as GP referrals across the Hounslow borough.
The WordPress website design Lampton Leisure can be seen in my portfolio and was created for Lampton Leisure with a simple purpose. To engage with the local community and act as a hub to showcase the services available. The site needed to be easily navigated, accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities. It needed to be available in a multilingual format and obviously fully responsive to work across a range of different device screen, from desktop monitors to mobile smart phones.
Creating sites that work for everyone is obviously the right and ethical thing to do. Without doubt. Full stop, but it is also the wise thing to do. Business wise the more people you can reach, the more people will hopefully want to use what you have to offer and lets face it health, fitness and wellbeing are pretty important.
It is also a legal obligation, and so it should be.
Denbighshire Leisure WordPress Website Design
I designed this WordPress website design whilst working at Alliance TA6, they were commissioned by Denbighshire Council to create a site to help promote the council run leisure services available across the Denbighshire area, including leisure centre facilities, theatres, restaurants, museums etc.
A WordPress Website Design with a simple purpose and that was to engage with the local community and act as a hub to showcase the services available. The site grew and grew, and now includes opportunties to volunteer in the area, apply for council jobs ranging from Head Chef positions on the beach front at Rhyl to Technical Manager at Rhyl Pavilion Theatre.
For this WordPress Website Design we obviously used WordPress, but inconjuction with an award winning theme we manipulated the the standard appearance using hard coded CSS to push the theme further and create a completely bespoke look and feel for the site. The hero slider was created using Revolution Slider, another premium WordPress plugin.
All the usual bells and whistles were employed, including realtime security with WordFence, industry standard anti spam with Google Recaptcha, and Google Analytics to track how site visitors interact with the site.
